Our Purpose

Investing in dreams. Honoring a legacy.

Cecil and Theresa Peacock created the Ray Anthony Peacock  Memorial Scholarship Fund to honor the memory of their son, Ray Anthony Peacock, whose life was defined by excellence and service. Ray graduated from Burkeville High School in 1977 and began his college journey at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. Though his life was tragically cut short that same year, his spirit of determination, compassion, and community involvement continues to inspire others.

This scholarship is designed for students like you, those who are committed to achieving academic success and making a difference in their communities.

Who Should Apply? Graduating high school seniors who:

  • Plan to attend an accredited college, university or vocational program
  • Demonstrate strong writing and communication skills
  • Have a record of community involvement or public service

Funds may be used for tuition, fees, books, or room and board. Awards are sent directly to your college or university and are meant to supplement, not replace, other financial aid.
